Never Truly Alone

Never Truly Alone is the title of a conceptual short film I have planned to create. The story will follow a terminally ill girl who befriends a stranger within her hospital room. I enjoyed scripting and storyboarding this project, with the setting being all within the same room, camera angles are mandatory to keep the scenes from feeling the same. Roof mounted overhead shots and full body shots from the edge of the hospital beds are the two shots I found the most compelling in showcasing the cramped nature of their environment. Set dressing and wardrobe will be vital in this project - but the two main characters need to be separated enough to show the duration of their stay. The girl would have more items around her bed, while the newest patient arrival would only have the essentials provided by the hospital. I’m looking to complete this project once I graduate, as I feel that would give me more then enough time to schedule actors and dates of filming.
